The Georgia Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), is a Federally-funded program that helps low-income households with their home energy bills. This assistance can reduce the risk of health and safety problems such as illness, fire, or disconnection. The Georgia LIHEAP program may be able to offer you one or more of the following types of assistance:
Energy Bill payment assistance.
Energy crisis assistance.
Weatherization and energy-related minor home repairs.

The phone lines are set up that in order to speak to someone you have to know the employees name or extension, the operator doesn't answer, when you do open up for applications the lines are open for 10 minutes steadily being busy, the websites either don't exist or are not allowing you to make appointments, it seems you have to know someone who works there in order to get assistance. I feel it's unfair that the same people receive assistance each year not opening up the program to new applicants there should be a better fair and better application process open to the public maybe only allowing assistance every other year so that new applicants can be served as well giving all a Bibb County and opportunity for assistance.
