Every county in Indiana is divided into municipalities.
The trustee of the municipality is an elected official who is, among other duties, responsible for the relief of the residents of the municipality.
This may include assistance with food, clothing, shelter, utilities (no deposits, reconnections, or penalties), clothing, food, household goods, medical services, and funeral expenses.
Each municipal administrator has different guidelines, based on standards set by the state.
In some larger, populated cities, the administrator may have staff to help with the registration process.
