The Weatherization Assistance Program enables low-income families to permanently reduce their energy bills by making their homes more energy efficient. During the last 33 years, the U.S. Department of Energy\'s (DOE) Weatherization Assistance Program has provided weatherization services to more than 6.4 million low-income families.
The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), is designed to aid qualifying low-income Iowa households (homeowners and renters).

To promote energy awareness and to encourage reduction of energy usage through energy efficiency, client education, and weatherization.
Applications are accepted on a first come/first served basis at your local Family Development Center from November 1, 2010 through April 30, 2011 (October 1 for households with elderly/disabled member).
