About Edison Service Center - LIHEAP

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a federally-funded program that provides assistance to low-income individuals or households that are having financial hardship so that they can pay for their electrical bill. LIHEAP offers assistance in two different categories, which are:

Regular Energy Assistance Program: amount of assistance is based on household number, income, and other. Maximum assistance amount is $600.
Crisis Home Energy Program: applicant must have a final notice or shut-off bill. Maximum assistance amount is $1,000 per season.

Eligibility:

Reside in Miami-Dade County
Must have legal permanent resident status or be a U.S. citizen
Current State of Florida Drivers’ License or picture identification for all individuals in household
Social Security card for all individuals in household
Proof of income for last 30 days
Current electricity bill final notice or past due notice from electricity provider
Other documentation must be required

Care to Share Program
Energy Assistance Program for households with one person aged 60 or older
