The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps families with their home energy bills. Assistance is available once a year, and emergency funds are set aside for families facing a shut-off of energy services. The grants are awarded on a points-based system to ensure that the most needy are assisted first, and the subsidies are paid directly to the energy provider. Applications are taken quarterly during the months of January, April, July, and October. Please call 1-844-309-0416 two weeks prior to the beginning of the intake month. Crisis applications are taken year round, and are dependent on the availability of funds.
